The workings of a concept chess board that could be connected to the internet to play against another remote player. An x/y gantry moves an rfid reader and servo actuated hight adjustable magnet. this is engages with magnets and rfid tags built into the chess pieces.

 

This video shows a prototype of a laser projector made with optical heads scrapped from a cd player controlled via Arduino. The next step would be to switch to just one optical gimbaled galvanometer with a higher frequency micro controller.

I built a large gantry machine designed to move flash bulbs strobes in photo studio in san francisco. The system is used to quickly produce lighting scenes for photographers.
